Meet the Panelists Bruce Robinett has practiced law in Bartlesville since 1967 in the same law firm, now known as Robinett-King-Elias-Buhlinger-Brown-Kane. He has had a broad and varied practice over the years and now focuses primarily on business and estate planning. Kelly Shipley, AG-ACNP, is a Nurse Practitioner Specialist. She graduated with honors in 2016. Having more than seven years of diverse experiences as a Nurse Practitioner, Ms. Shipley is a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN). She works with Neurologist Dr. Jason L. King, MD, in Bartlesville. Father John O'Neill is the pastor of St. John Before the Latin Gate in Bartlesville, Vicar Forane of the Northern region of their diocese, and the pastor of St. James also in Bartlesville. He is a member of the Board of Governors for Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma. Father O'Neill holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a Minor in Music from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He continued his education and earned a Master of Arts in Catholic Thought and Life, a Master of Theological Studies, and a Certificate in Spiritual Direction - all from St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. He participates in many church and social circles and enjoys creating with Legos. Marilou G Bork, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has provided mental health, aging, and hospice services for over 40 years in Bartlesville and surrounding communities. She received a Master of Social Work degree from The University of Oklahoma. She was a co-founder of Washington County Elder Care. She currently works part-time providing educational supervision for social workers who are candidates for licensure and volunteers for Elder Care upon request. Jacob Guinan is Community Outreach Coordinator at Alzheimer's Association® in the Tulsa Metropolitan area. His role focuses on education and community outreach to connect constituents to Association resources and build community partnerships. In this role, he managed community educator volunteers to deliver virtual education programs during the COVID-19 pandemic and through the transition back to in-person service delivery. He assisted families in finding needed resources for loved ones. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in International/Global Studies from Texas Tech University. Christina Bishop is Operations and DayBreak Director at Elder Care. She has been part of Elder Care for more than thirteen years serving in a variety of roles.

Go Travel: A Day of Inspiration Tulsa Day Trip

Colorful and delicate glass sculptures adorn the walls and shelves at the Tulsa Glassblowing School. A two-hour glass-blowing class offers an opportunity to create something unique and special. Elder Care Announces Annual Fundraising Event On May 13, 2023, Elder Care will celebrate its 25th The Good, The Bad, & The BBQ  fundraiser to benefit programs and services at Elder Care. Location: Hughes Ranch, just minutes from downtown Bartlesville on Highway 123. The outdoor fundraiser will be held under a large party tent and includes a BBQ dinner, music and dancing, and live and silent auctions. A cash bar will be available. The live and silent auctions feature travel packages, unique jewelry pieces, private parties, tickets to sporting events, one-of-a-kind artwork, and many more items. Tickets go on sale March 1 and may be purchased online at AboutElderCare.org/BBQ or by calling Elder Care at (918) 336-8500. Individual event tickets are $100 each or $1,000 for a reserved table of 8. Guests must pre-register by May 1, 2023. Alzheimer’s Association Presents: Living With Alzheimer’s for Younger-onset Alzheimer’s”

Jacob Guinan of the Alzheimer’s Association will present information to help individuals and families recognize symptoms at any age, especially at 55-65 years of age; and guide them toward proper resources. When someone under 65 is diagnosed with younger-onset Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia, the first reaction is often shock or denial. In this seminar, you’ll hear from those directly affected to learn how to plan and what you can do to ease the impact throughout the course of the disease. No cost to attend. Alzheimer’s in our Community Panel Discussion

The June 29 panel includes Dr. Sarah Land, founder of Central States Research in Tulsa.  Mr. John C. Holden, former Elder Care board member, practices elder law in Bartlesville. He counsels families on retaining assets and the cost of care for those diagnosed with Alzheimer's or dementia. Christina Bishop has been with Elder Care for 17 years with a behavioral science and psychology background and currently leads DayBreak Adult Day Health & Activity Center at Elder Care. Book signing to benefit Elder Care

Elder Care will host a book signing for local author Bob Fraser to promote his new book, Frankly Speaking, which focuses on  behind-the-scenes tales about legendary local oil icon Frank Phillips and historic Woolaroc.  In addition to the book signing, Fraser will entertain guests by recounting a few "tales" from his book and a few tales not mentioned in the book. Light refreshments will be served, including Frank Phillips' favorite summertime drink. Guests may purchase Fraser's book for $10, with a portion to be donated to Elder Care. The event is set for Tuesday, August 15, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Elder Care, 1223 Swan Drive, Bartlesville.
