Support Group Meetings Caregiver Support Group is another way that Elder Care promotes health, wellness, and independence for seniors in our community by providing caregivers accurate and up-to-date information in a supportive setting. It also features informative programs with guest speakers, videos, and discussions that focus on practical help for caregiving. Are you a Caregiver? Helping a loved one can be bewildering and daunting. You may feel concerned or alone and wonder what the future will bring during this difficult time. You may be an adult child caring for a parent or a spouse caring for your husband/wife and need support. Family members caring for a loved one and professional caregivers alike need a resource to discuss issues and ask questions in a supportive and nurturing environment. Sharing your experiences with others is a therapeutic way to overcome challenges. You are not alone, Elder Care can help. Our Meetings – Everyone is Welcome! Our Caregiver Support Group meets First Tuesday of each month @ 10:00 am to 11:00 am. How can I attend the meetings if I need to provide care for my loved one? May is speech and hearing month! Join us as we share information about hearing loss and address hearing health. Do you have questions about when hearing devices are needed or what type of device is best? Dr. Andrea Wagner from Advance Hearing Care, downtown Bartlesville, will offer more information about hearing health, including: how normal hearing works the different types of hearing loss an explanation of over-the-counter hearing aids vs prescription hearing aid and when to consider amplification/hearing aids/cognitive implications Elder Care's speech pathologist, Abigayl Petermann, MS CCC-SLP, rounds out the seminar by highlighting speech therapy and its benefits. Hear award-winning Americana recording singer-songwriter Tom Davis performs original songs from his four albums. Tom appears exclusively on Constantine Records. But you may know him best as “Tom Davis” News Director with KWON, Bartlesville. Tom performs across the United States and performs locally. Kevin Knowles is a talented Smooth Jazz musician, composer, and producer. He was taught by his father and was inspired by Jazz standards and popular Urban records from the 1980s. Kevin's career began in 1985, and he quickly became a sought-after utility musician and arranger, playing with multiple Jazz and Funk bands. In 1996, he started writing and arranging his music to develop his unique sound, which combines smooth jazz and dance grooves. Kevin has released eleven instrumental albums, and he amazes his audience with his live looping arrangements during solo live performances. Open to all adults in the community. Limited space. Senior Connect: Fraud Update

Stay alert!  The presentation will cover the signs of identity theft and fraud and how to protect yourself.  Presenter: Trisha Richards, VP, with ARVEST Bank. Tricia Richards began her career with Arvest in 2000 as a teller and quickly advanced throughout the years leading up to Branch Manager on the retail side. In 2013, Tricia took on the role of Arvest Treasury Management Advisor and held that position for eight years, working with local and regional businesses with corporate cash management. In 2021, Tricia became Branch Services Manager overseeing branch services and security for the Bartlesville region. Tricia is active in the community where she is a troop leader and member of the development committee for Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma. Tricia also serves on the finance committee and is a former board vice president of Splash Club. In addition, she is a graduate of Leadership Bartlesville Class XII and previously played the string bass in the Bartlesville Symphony. Tricia graduated from Bartlesville High School and holds an associate degree in liberal arts from Rogers State University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bartlesville Wesleyan College (now Oklahoma Wesleyan University).
