Cognitive Screenings – Central States Research

Elder Care to serve as memory screening site for Central States Research  Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Elder Care  - Elder Care   Central States Research will hold memory screenings at Elder Care on December 14.   Dr. Sarah Land, DO a board-certified psychiatrist, and her team of specialists will hold a special one-day memory screening event at Elder Care for adults 55 and older. The 15-minute screening will help qualify individuals for trial and treatment options offered at Central States Research Center in Tulsa. The research team is seeking participants who show no signs of cognitive impairment and those experiencing memory loss to participate in trial treatments.   Central States Research is a dedicated clinical research site that offers cutting-edge treatments in multiple therapeutic areas, including mild cognitive impairment to more complex Alzheimer’s and dementia diagnoses.    Participants are asked to schedule screening times by calling Elder Care at (918) 336-8500. The event is open to all adults 55+ and will be held at Elder Care on Thursday, December 14, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. John earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and a Minor in Music from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK. Through seminary Fr. John earned a two Masters degrees in Theology and a Certificate in Spiritual Direction – all from Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in Indiana. An avid semi-professional musician since high school, Fr. John has owned a recording studio, played multiple venues and events around the country, and continues to use his musical talents to benefit the church and worthy non-profit organizations. Fr. John also builds using Lego, as another outlet for his creativity and to minister to others. Currently Fr. John is Pastor of St. John Before the Latin Gate and St. James Catholic Churches in Bartlesville, and serves as the Vidar Forane for the Northern Vicariate of the Diocese. He also serves on the Board of Governors for Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma.

Ann-Janette is a Bartlesville-based singer-songwriter and the product of a local musical family.  Her unique voice and songs have been described as a sound of hope, love, and the promise of brighter days ahead. Ann-Janette recently released a new album of original music written in several genres entitled “Songs No One’s Heard”. When playing live Ann-Janette entertains audiences with piano and vocals performing a blend of jazz standards, pop songs from different eras and a handful of her original tunes.  Music lovers are treated to endearing favorites made famous by the likes of Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra,  Patsy Cline and Carole King. When not performing Webster is busy operating local creative company PioneerDream alongside her husband Jay, helping at her daughter Evanjalyn’s school and volunteering with their community group “Dreamers”.  She loves performing for the great folks at Elder Care and is happy to be part of the evening. Triad Eye Screening at Elder Care

Elder Care hosts Triad Eye Screenings. Screenings are provided by a licensed Optometrist. Screening is for glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic eye disease, retinal diseases, external diseases of eyes and lids and dry eyes. No dilation used. Free and open to all individuals 55 and older. Local Neurologist Discusses Alzheimer’s in our Community

The April 25 event features local neurologist, Dr. Jason L. King, MD.   Dr. King is part of the Ascension Medical Group St. John Neurology & Stroke Care Bartlesville. King graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2020 after completing a fellowship in vascular neurology. Prior to this, he received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
