Elder Care hosts fundraising breakfast to celebrate its 40-year milestone

Jim Bridenstine

Bartlesville, Okla., September 1, 2023 – Elder Care

To commemorate its 40-year anniversary, Elder Care is hosting a Giving Day 40-year celebration fundraising breakfast on Saturday, November 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Tri-County Technology Event Center. Individual tickets are available for a limited time and sponsorships are available.

Jim Bridenstine, 13th NASA Administrator and former United States House of Representative from Oklahoma’s First Congressional District will be the featured guest speaker during the fundraising breakfast. Elder Care Board President Mark Wilburn says the event theme – “Setting New Heights” – will describe the vision for 2024 and beyond.

“Looking to the future,” Wilburn stated, “Elder Care continues fully committing to improving our services for aging adults. We aim to focus on our core programs, DayBreak Adult Day Health, Foundation Therapy Specialists, and Case Management, to ensure we provide caring, effective, and efficient services while continuing to offer expanded services when appropriate. Our partnership with CHC-OK offers quality health care through the W. R. Bohon Health Clinic, and clinic staff are now seeing new patients. We are setting new heights for future programs and quality services, and the funds raised during the Giving Day celebration will provide resources to offer services in 2024.”

Mr. Bridenstine also served as a pilot in the United States Navy, acquiring 1900 flight hours and 333 landings on an aircraft carrier. He flew combat missions in Afghanistan (2002) and Iraq (2003) off the USS Abraham Lincoln, where he earned an Air Medal and Navy Commendation Medal with Combat “V.” Originally an E-2C Hawkeye pilot, he transitioned to the F-18 Hornet and flew as an aggressor (Red Air) at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, the parent command to TOPGUN.

Tickets may be purchased between September 20 and October 28 through the Elder Care website (AboutElderCare.org/breakfast) or by calling (918) 336-8500.
