Excellence in senior physical therapy is not our motto; its our way of life at Elder Care. We provide the highest quality of physical therapy treatments to continue to promote wellness within our community for adults 55 years and older.

Why choose Elder Care Physical Therapy?

We recognize the unique needs of the older adult population and tailor individual programs to the unique needs of the client. The mobility of a 20- or 30-something is a bit different from that of a mature adult, and our team specializes in the older adult. So choose excellence, choose Elder Care and enjoy our fun-filled atmosphere.

Our state-of-the-art clinic offers Olympic-caliber fitness equipment, air-resisted pneumatic machines, Nu-Step, Sci-Fit recumbent bicycle, treadmills, therabands, mat tables/plinths, free weights, pulleys, stairs, Wii® Sports and Fitness interactive workouts and more.

Our Dedicated Staff

Elder Care is proud to have Bartlesville’s only Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy.  Mary Grove, Elder Care’s Director of Physical Therapy, is dedicated to her profession, and this certification demonstrates her commitment to helping older adults in our community live stronger and healthier.

According to the American Physical Therapy Association (the certifying organization) there are only 927 Certified Clinical Specialists in Geriatric Physical Therapy in the nation and a handful in the state of Oklahoma, including Grove.

This is yet another reason why Choosing Elder Care is Choosing Excellence.

How do I set up an appointment?

To see a physical therapist, you must have a referral from your physician. If your doctor recommends physical therapy, ask for the specialists in senior physical therapy, ask for Elder Care.

Physical therapy prescriptions are similar to medication prescriptions. You choose the pharmacy where your medication prescriptions are filled, and you have the same choice with your physical therapy prescription.  Choose Excellence, Choose Elder Care.

What can I expect from my sessions?

A licensed physical therapist (PT) will perform a comprehensive evaluation where we will meet with you and your family to get to know you and understand how your problem is affecting your life. During this evaluation, your therapist will establish an individualized plan of care, as well as the expected goals that you and your therapist agree to establish.

Each session will include one-on-one care with your therapist for an entire hour. Treatment duration is different for each individual. However the average treatment cycle is two to three visits per week for one month.

Re-evaluations are performed every 30 days until the patient has met all of his or her goals.

Are there any additional benefits?

In addition to the benefits of improved mobility and renewed sense of self, we offer an exclusive program for patients of our Physical Therapy Clinic. The Aftercare Program allows patients to continue to utilize the gym and all of the fitness equipment to extend the benefits of their treatment, assisted for $240 a month, or unassisted for $25 per month.

Unassisted Aftercare

Unassisted aftercare does not include direct supervision or assistance from a physical therapist and may be completed at your convenience during our regular business hours which are 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, our therapy staff is always available to answer questions that you may have regarding the exercise program or equipment. This program requires pre-payment of $25 per month.

Assisted Aftercare

Assisted Aftercare includes scheduled individual sessions with a staff member, not a licensed therapist. The staff will assist or direct you through the exercise program that was established by your physical therapist. Your program may be adapted at the discretion of the trained staff member after consultation with the therapist. This program requires a pre-payment of the $240 for 12 scheduled sessions, usually 2 or 3 times per week.
